Singapore primary tuition price index: October 2026

What primary tuition centres in Singapore publish as their per-lesson fee, taken from 179 listings on Brightly. This is a count of published fees, not a survey of what families pay.

Headline figures

S$69median published fee per lesson
S$55 to S$76middle half of listings
179 of 290primary listings with a clear per-lesson fee

Half of the listings publish a fee at or below S$69 per lesson and half at or above it. Published fees run from S$10 to S$200 per lesson. A small number of listings publish fees far below or far above the typical range; they are included as published.

A “lesson” is not a fixed length. Centres run lessons of different durations, so two centres with the same per-lesson fee can differ in cost per hour.

How published fees are spread

Under S$40106%
S$40 to S$595330%
S$60 to S$797642%
S$80 to S$993318%

148 listings publish a range and 31 publish a single figure. A range is counted at its midpoint.

North17S$55S$50 to S$69S$28 to S$190
South5S$63S$61 to S$67S$45 to S$80

Regions are Brightly’s own broad grouping of centre locations. Treat any group with fewer than twenty listings as indicative only.

By town

Only 61 of the 179 listings have a location checked against official planning-area boundaries, so town samples are small. A town appears only with at least 5 listings; 19 towns with fewer are left out.

Hougang13S$69S$60 to S$72S$45 to S$95
Woodlands5S$49S$34 to S$55S$28 to S$190

With so few listings per town, one centre changing its fee can move a town’s median. Do not read these as a ranking of towns by cost.

By subject

Centres teachingListingsMedianMiddle half of listings
Primary Mathematics141S$64S$55 to S$75
Primary Science121S$61S$55 to S$70
Primary English101S$61S$55 to S$70
Primary Chinese88S$61S$55 to S$69

Brightly records one fee range per centre, not one per subject, and most centres teach several subjects. These rows therefore overlap heavily and should not be read as the price of a subject.

Method and limits

  1. Which listings. Published listings of real tuition centres on Brightly that are linked to at least one Primary 1 to 6 subject: 290 listings on 13 October 2026.
  2. Which fees. Only a fee stated as one dollar amount or a dollar range per lesson is used. Monthly, per-term, blank and unclear fees are left out, never converted. That leaves 179 listings (62%).
  3. One figure per listing. Each listing counts once, at the midpoint of its published range.
  4. Summary figures. The median is the middle listing. The “middle half” runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile. Figures are rounded to the nearest dollar.
  5. Small groups. A region, town or subject is shown only with at least 5 listings.
  • These are fees centres publish, recorded when each listing was researched between 12 September 2026 and 13 October 2026. They may have changed since.
  • 179 of the 179 fee records carry a saved link to the page the fee was taken from. The rest were recorded from public listings during research without a saved link.
  • Registration, material and deposit charges are not included.
  • Every listing counts equally. Nothing is weighted by how many pupils a centre teaches, so this is not an average of what families pay.
  • Brightly does not list every tuition centre in Singapore and does not list private tutors.

Brightly keeps the list of records behind this edition. To question a figure or report a fee that is out of date, send a correction. See also how Brightly records fees.

Using these figures

You are welcome to quote these figures with a link to this page. Please describe them as published per-lesson fees from Brightly’s directory and include the edition date. Suggested wording: “Brightly Primary Tuition Price Index, October 2026 edition (brightly.sg/primary-tuition-price-index)”.

Each edition is a fixed snapshot. A new edition replaces the figures on this page and states its own date.
