Concept Math (Novena)

Concept Math's Novena centre is for children who work hard at Math but still freeze when an exam question looks unfamiliar.

Concept Math is a primary Math specialist that has taught children from Primary 1 to the PSLE since 2011. All its teachers are MOE-registered, and classes are kept small so each child gets personal attention.

How the centre teaches

Lessons are built around two frameworks of its own. L.E.A.R.N. shapes how concepts are introduced, one concept per lesson, so a child understands why a method works before using it. The five-step S.M.A.R.T. approach gives students a repeatable way into any problem sum, starting with simplifying the question and drawing a model of it. Lessons are scaffolded and go beyond the syllabus to build genuine mathematical thinking, with e-resources and lesson recordings for revision.

The centre pays particular attention to Primary 4, when fractions, decimals and multi-step word problems start to stack up and many confident children begin to struggle.
