Chen Higher Chinese Tuition (Ang Mo Kio)

Chen Higher Chinese's Ang Mo Kio branch is a Higher Chinese specialist led by Ms Chen.

Ms Chen has 13 years of experience teaching Higher Chinese, Chinese and Chinese Literature, and has taught at Hwa Chong Institution. She holds a Master of Education in Chinese Language from NIE, and works with a team of bilingual, MOE-trained teachers.

How the centre teaches

Ms Chen sees teaching Chinese as building a child's feeling for the language, not just drilling techniques. All materials are written by her, drawing on her knowledge of how papers are marked and which composition topics come up often. Teachers explain difficult words in both English and Chinese, so children who speak mostly English at home still follow every lesson.

Group lessons cover comprehension techniques, model compositions and how to analyse a composition question, textbook vocabulary, and common oral topics.
