About Benjamin Maths (Bukit Timah)
Benjamin Maths' Bukit Timah branch is built on the belief that poor Math grades usually come from missing strategies, not missing ability.
The centre takes its name from founder Benjamin, who nearly failed his own PSLE and scored Ds and Es in Math in the Normal Academic stream before better learning strategies turned his results around, to the point where he was offered Additional Math. He has been teaching since 2003.
How the centre teaches
Lessons focus on clear strategies for each type of question, including the founder's own formulas and shortcuts, alongside clear goals and steady encouragement. Former students quoted on the website describe moving from failing grades to distinctions, and parents of primary pupils mention help with Paper 2 problem sums.
