About Ancourage Academy (Bishan)

Ancourage Academy's Bishan centre works with students who know the content but freeze when a question asks them to apply it.

Ancourage Academy is an MOE-registered tuition centre teaching small groups of 3 to 6 students, from kindergarten through primary, secondary, JC and IB. Primary subjects are Math, English, Science and Chinese, and the centre also runs art classes.

How the centre teaches

Lessons follow the centre's ESB method, which draws on spaced review to help knowledge stick, Socratic questioning to get students reasoning aloud, and scaffolding that removes support step by step as a student becomes independent. With at most 6 students, the tutor can see where each child gets stuck.

Programmes

Primary 1 to 6 Math, English, Science and Chinese, including PSLE preparation
Kindergarten and Primary 1 preparation
